SECTION 2: Hazards identification
Emergency Overview Appearance, form, odor: Brown Putty with mild epoxy odor DANGER! Corrosive. Potential skin sensitizer.
Principle Routes of Exposure
Eye and skin contact, ingestion, inhalation Symptoms of acute overexposure Skin: May cause severe skin irritation May cause skin sensitization (itching, redness, rashes, hives, burning, swelling) Eyes: Corrosive to eye tissue and may cause severe damage and blindness. Inhalation: May cause severe respiratory irritation. Excessive inhalation causes headache, dizziness, nausea and incoordination. May cause respiratory sensitization with asthma-like symptoms in susceptible individuals. Ingestion: Harmful if swallowed.. Corrosive to the gastrointestinal tract. Effects of Chronic Exposure: Repeated or prolonged exposure may cause adverse respiratory effects (coughing, tightness of chest, shortness of breath), nervous system disorders (narcosis, behavioral changes, decreased motor function), muscular disfunction, eye effects (conjunctivitis, corneal damage), or skin effects (rash, irritation, corrosion). Nonylphenol has caused allergic sensitization in humans.
