Emergency Overview Some fumes may be released upon heating or cross linking and the end-user (fabricator) must take the necessary precautions (mechanical ventilation, respiratory protection, etc.) to protect his employee from exposure.
Potential health effects
and symptoms Inhalation No risks known at temperatures between -20 and +40°C ( -4 to +104°F ). At high temperatures, fumes can be formed and may cause irritation of eyes and respiratory tracts. Skin contact No risks known at temperatures between -20 and +40°C (-4 to +104°F). The exposure to molten material may cause severe burns. Eye contact Dusts (especially when handling powders) may cause irritation. Ingestion Low toxicity. Sensitization No cases of sensitization in humans have been reported. Chronic Not hazardous.
Health hazards
Aromatic Extract Oils are carcinogens, other components are skin sensitizers or may be irritants. If they are separated from the rubber.
Environmental effects
No significant environmental hazards are associated with this rubber release to the environment. This rubber is not soluble in water. See section 11 for more detailed information on health effects and symptoms.
