Principle Routes of Exposure
Eye contact, Ingestion, Inhalation, Skin contact. CARCINOGENIC STATUS Not considered to be carcinogenic. TARGET ORGANS Eye, Skin, and respiratory tract.
Potential health effects
EYE Liquid, mist or vapor will cause irritation. Can cause tearing, reddening and swelling. If left untreated, corneal damage can occur and injury is slow to heal. Damage is usually reversible and not permanent. INGESTION Causes irritation and burning of the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract. Symptoms can include sore throat, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. INHALATION Inhalation of vapors/mists at concentration above the exposure limits, can irritate (Burning sensation) the mucous membranes in the respiratory tract. Extensive exposures to concentrations of MDI well above the TLV could lead to bronchitis, bronchial spasms and pulmonary edema. These effects are usually reversible.
