Potential health effects
EYE May cause eye irritation INGESTION Irritation of mouth, throat and digestive tract. INHALATION Prolonged or repeated exposure to fine airborne crystalline silica dust may cause severe scarring of the lungs, a disease called silicosis. Silicosis may occur in varying degrees from minimal to severe. In severe cases, significant and increasingly severe respiratory impairment develops. High vapour concentration may produce nausea, vomiting, headaches, dizziness, unconsciousness, and asphyxia resulting in peripheral central nervous system effects.
