Excessive exposure may aggravate pre-existing eye, skin, or respiratory conditions. High-pressure injection under skin may cause serious damage. The hazards of used motor oil may vary from what is described in this document due to exposure to high temperature. Used motor oil from gasoline engines may contain polycyclic aromatic compounds (PAC) or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) from combustion. PAC and PAH concentrations in used motor oil can vary depending on multiple factors, but have been linked to carcinogenic effects in animal tests, the relevance to humans is not fully known. If handling used motor oil, proper precautions should be followed.
