The product as supplied is classified as non-Hazardous according to the criteria of Safe Work Australia (SWA – formerly ASCC/NOHSC) Approved Criteria For Classifying Hazardous Substances [NOHSC:1008] 3rd Edition. Dust in/on the supplied product, or created when the product is used or further abraded or crushed, contains crystalline silica, some of which may be respirable (particles small enough to go into the deep parts of the lung when breathed in) and which is Hazardous. Recommendations on Exposure Controls / Personal Protection (see Section 8 below) should be followed. This product contains more than 1% Crystalline Silica (Quartz) and is considered a Crystalline Silica Substance as specified in Victoria's Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Crystalline Silica) Regulations 2021, S.R.
