Encapsulation in the rubber matrix generally precludes hazardous exposure. However, some vapors may be released during hot processing, and the fabricator must take the necessary precautions (mechanical ventilation, respiratory protection, etc.) to protect employees from exposure. Note that some rubber compounds have the potential to produce nitrosamine fumes during cure that may be carcinogenic. Warning! May form combustible dust concentrations in air (during some types of processing, e.g., grinding)
