2.3 Other hazards
None known when used as intended. Dust generated from sanding, cutting, or abrasion of dried material may pose respiratory hazards.
Additional information
Contains crystalline silica, which may cause cancer and chronic lung disease through prolonged inhalation exposure to respirable dust. Handle in accordance with recommended exposure controls and personal protective equipment guidelines. 2.3 HEALTH HAZARDS OR RISKS FROM EXPOSURE: 2.3.1 SYMPTOMS OF OVEREXPOSURE BY ROUTE OF EXPOSURE: The most significant route of exposure is inhalation of respirable dust or mist during sanding, cutting, spraying, or abrasion of dried material. Acute: Inhalation: May cause coughing, throat irritation, shortness of breath, or respiratory discomfort if dust, mist, or spray droplets are inhaled. Severe overexposure may aggravate asthma-like symptoms. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen by qualified person. Get medical attention if symptoms develop or persist. Skin Contact: May cause mild mechanical irritation. No evidence supports classification as a skin sensitizer under GHS criteria. Eye Contact: Direct contact may cause mechanical eye irritation. Flush with water for several minutes if irritation occurs. Ingestion: May cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, or discomfort. Do not ingest. Ingestion is not expected during normal use. Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Loosen tight clothing such as collar, tie, belt, or waistband. Get medical attention if symptoms appear. Chronic: Prolonged or repeated inhalation of respirable crystalline silica dust may cause permanent lung damage, respiratory impairment, or lung scarring. Carcinogenic Effects: Classified as Carcinogenicity, Category 1A due to respirable crystalline silica (inhalation hazard only). Chronic exposure may increase the risk of lung cancer. Mutagenic Effects: No known mutagenic effects are expected from product components under normal occupational exposure conditions.
Teratogenic Effects
Not known based on available data Developmental: No specific developmental toxicity has been reported; however, prolonged exposure to airborne particulates should be avoided, especially during pregnancy. Toxicity: Not known based on available data. Adverse effects: Adverse effects may include respiratory tract irritation, lung damage from long-term silica exposure and aggravation of pre-existing respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic bronchitis.
