Crystalline silica has been classified by IARC and NTP as a carcinogen for humans (Group 1) from lab animal studies. Risk of cancer depends on duration and level of exposure from sanding surfaces or spray mist. When sanding or spraying product use (NIOSH/MSHA approved) respiratory protection.
