Dry cement powders in normal use have no harmful effect on the dry skin However when cement is mixed with water or becomes damp, alkalies are released which can be harmful. Contact with wet cement or wet mortar may cause irritation, dermatitis or burns. Inhalation Exposure to dust at high concentrations may have the following effects:-irritation of nose, throat and respiratory tract. Skin Repeated and/or prolonged contact may lead to dermatitis. Repeated or prolonged contact may cause chemical burns. Eyes Dust will cause conjunctiva irritation and possibly corneal damage.
