2.3 Other hazards
In cases of prolonged and repeated exposure, the absorption of fluoride ions into the blood through inhalation of dust or fumes, ingestion or through the skin can cause fluorosis. Absorption into the blood of fluoride ions by any route can cause systemic poisoning.
