SECTION 2: Hazards identification
2.1 Classification of the substance or mixture
Generally no risk results from proper handling of an undamaged module. The regulations about handling and storage must be observed in order to safely exclude the unintentional ignition of a module. Mechanical processing and introducing electrical energy must be refrained from. The dismantling of unignited modules must be carried out only by the manufacturer. Information about individual points partially refers to the gas generator or the free propellant.

Prevention
P210 Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. P234 Keep only in original packaging. P250 Do not subject to friction, grinding, shock.
Response
P370+P380+P375 In case of fire: Evacuate area. Fight fire remotely due to the risk of explosion.
Storage
P401 Store in accordance with local regulations on explosives.
Other hazards which do not result in classification
Ignition is possible if affected directly by flames, heat or sparks. If affected by fire the module will ignite and become a hazardous flying object. On deployment of the pyrotechnic airbag module following injury hazards are possible: in case of mechanical action: shock, impact, etc. in case of loud noise/ bangs: e.g. ear damage by the noise in case of contact with escaping gas or powder: health hazard by inhalation. in case of heating action: burning by hot gases or hot module parts.
