EMERGENCY OVERVIEW Appearance Clear liquid. Flash Point 71 deg C Caution! May cause eye, skin, and respiratory tract irritation. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Combustible liquid and vapor. May be harmful if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin. Aspiration hazard if swallowed. Can enter lungs and cause damage. May cause central nervous system depression. Target Organs: Central nervous system, lungs, skin.
Potential health effects
Eye: May cause eye irritation. Skin: May be harmful if absorbed through the skin. Repeated or prolonged exposure may cause drying and cracking of the skin. Ingestion: May cause gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The toxicological properties of this substance have not been fully investigated. Aspiration of material into the lungs may cause chemical pneumonitis, which may be fatal. May cause central nervous system effects. Inhalation: May cause respiratory tract irritation. The toxicological properties of this substance have not been fully investigated. Inhalation of high concentrations may cause narcotic effects. Aspiration may lead to pulmonary edema. Inhalation at high concentrations may cause CNS depression and asphixiation. Material has a very low vapor pressure at room temperature, so inhalation exposures are not expected unless material is heated or misted. Chronic: Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause defatting and dermatitis. Repeated exposure may cause central nervous system damage.
