Product Overview: Product is baled wood excelsior blended with a flame retardant. This product contains chemicals and wood dust which may cause irritation and/or dryness of the respiratory tract. Repeated skin and inhalation exposure to these components may produce allergic contact dermatitis and respiratory sensitization.

Potential health effects

Eyes Skin Exposure to may cause mechanical eye irritation. Handling of product may cause mechanical skin irritation or produce skin rashes. Repeated skin contact may cause an allergic skin sensitization reaction. Ingestion Ingestion of this product is unlikely. If ingestion does occur, it may produce gastric irritation and discomfort. Inhalation Inhalation of dusts from this product may cause irritation and dryness of the respiratory system. Repeated inhalation exposure may cause an allergic respiratory sensitization reaction. Prolonged exposure to certain species of wood dusts has been associated with an increased risk of nasal cancers; however, no specific data concerning the type of wood used in this product could be located.
