2.3 Other hazards
Not a PBT or vPvB At their meeting in December 2012 the Member States Committee confirmed the inclusion of 1-Bromopropane (nPB) in the candidate list of SVHC’s. At this time no action is necessary by end users. After a two-step regulatory process, SVHCs may be included in the Authorisation List and become subject to authorisation.
2.1 Classification of the substance or mixture
According to Regulation 1272/2008 Repr. 1B, H360Fd, Carc cat 2 H351, STOT RE 2, H373,Eye Dam.1 H318 STOT SE 3, H335, Skin Irrit. 2 H315, STOT SE 3, H336, Aqua Chr 3 H412. According to EU Directive 1999/45/EC Toxic T, Rep.Cat2 R60, Rep.Cat 3 R63, Carc cat 3 R40, R48/20, R36/37/38, R67, R30, R52/53 EnSolv Ionic has been independently tested and shows no valid flash point and is therefore non flammable and does not support combustion. However vapour can form an explosive mixture between 3.8-9.5% by volume in air (This will be transitory and self-extinguishing). Since the preparation contains between 5-10% highly flammable components it is mandatory to list EU 209 Can become highly flammable in use. However the preparation is an azeotrope and tests show that the probability that these components will concentrate to a degree which makes the resultant mix highly flammable is extremely small. Full list of Hazard Statements and Risk Phases mentioned in this section are printed in section 16
