Hazard statements

Flammable solid. May be corrosive to metals. Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Reacts violently with water to generate hydrogen chloride. May cause burns to the respiratory tract.

Prevention

Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Keep only in original packaging. Ground/Bond container and receiving equipment. Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting equipment. Do not breathe dust. Wash thoroughly after handling. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. Avoid release to the environment.

Response

In case of fire: Use appropriate media to extinguish. Absorb spillage to prevent material damage. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Specific treatment (see label). IF ON SKIN (or hair): Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. IF SWALLOWED: Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Collect spillage.

Storage

Store locked up. Store in corrosive resistant container with a resistant inner liner.

Disposal

Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations.
