2.3 Other hazards
Acute inhalation can cause metal fume fever. This condition may arise within 4-12 hours after exposure. This is characterized by any of the following symptoms: fever, chills, nausea, weakness, body aches, frontal headache, possible blurred vision, low back pain, muscle cramping, shallow respiration, throat dryness/muscle cramping, dry cough, sweet or metallic taste and chest tightness occurring over several hours. Symptoms usually subside within 24 hours.
