2.1 Classification of the substance or mixture
Classifcation according to R egulation (EC) No 1272/2008 Results of in vitro- tests have shown that cement based mixture s with more than 1% of cement cause serious skin irritation and seriou s eye damage, therefore the c lassifcation of these mixtures regarding H315 and H318 is not based on the calculation of the ingredien ts or the pH in this case. When the dry powder product comes in contact with water or beco mes wet, a strong alkaline solution is formed. Due to the high alkalinit y, moist/wet mortar can cause skin and eye irritation. There is a risk of serious damage to health particu larly from prolonged contact The product contains silica sand with less than 1% of fne frac tion and therefore is not classifed as hazardous; however, pay attention when handling and follow the indications relating to personal protective equipment.
