SECTION 2: Hazards identification
2.1 DESCRIPTION OF HAZARDS: As shipped, Titanium and Titanium alloys in solid form do not present a hazard to human health and are not classified as hazardous. Titanium powders and fume or dust emissions released during remelting, grinding, cutting or welding or in powder form may be hazardous if inhaled or ingested. Titanium turnings can be flammable during processing. The classifications below are related to exposure to the hazardous fume or dust emissions generated when remelting, grinding, cutting or welding or when in powder form. 2.3 Other hazards
Dust or powders may present an explosion hazard if allowed to accumulate in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Coatings and oils applied to the product may enhance flammability.
