Potential health effects
Eye Contact May cause severe eye irritation. Liquid or vapor may cause severe irritation or cornea injury due to mechanical action which may result in irreversible eye damage Effects may be slow to heal. Skin Contact Brief contact is essentially nonirritating to skin. Prolonged contact may cause skin irritation with local redness. Repeated contact may cause skin irritation with local redness. Skin Absorption Prolonged or widespread skin contact may result in absorption of potentially harmful amounts. Inhalation At room temperature, exposures to vapors are minimal due to physical properties; higher temperatures may generate vapor levels sufficient to cause irritation and other effects. Prolonged excessive exposure to dust may cause adverse effects. Ingestion Moderate toxicity if swallowed. Small amounts swallowed incidentally as a result of normal handling operations are not likely to cause injury; however, swallowing larger amounts may cause injury. Effects of Repeated Exposure In animals, effects have been reported on the following organs: liver, kidney, gastrointestinal tract, muscles. Observations in animals include: Gastrointestinal irritation, Vomiting. Birth Defects/Developmental Effects Has been toxic to the fetus in laboratory animals at doses toxic to the mother. Did not cause birth defects in laboratory animals. Reproductive Effects In laboratory animals, excessive doses toxic to the parent animals caused decreased weight and survival of offspring.
