Lead metal does not represent a significant health hazard. However, melting or activities generated lead dust, smoke or steam may lead to an intake of a quantity of lead into the body which might be hazardous for health. Oxidation products (including lead compounts) may also develop on the surface of metallike lead. Lead is very heavy and should be handled cautiously when lifted.
