Potential health effects

Eye Contact: May cause slight temporary eye irritation. Corneal injury is unlikely. Skin Contact: Prolonged exposure not likely to cause significant skin irritation. Skin Absorption: Prolonged skin contact is unlikely to result in absorption of harmful amounts. Prolonged/repeated exposure to damaged skin (as in burn patients) may result in absorption of toxic amounts. Inhalation: At room temperature, exposure to vapor is minimal due to low volatility. Vapor from heated material or mist may cause respiratory irritation. No adverse effects are anticipated from single exposure to mist. For narcotic effects: No relevant data found. Ingestion: Very low toxicity if swallowed. Harmful effects not anticipated from swallowing small amounts. Excessive exposure may cause: Central nervous system effects. Observations in humans include: Altered blood sugar levels.

Aspiration hazard

Based on physical properties, not likely to be an aspiration hazard Effects of Repeated Exposure: Excessive exposure to glycerine may cause increased fat levels in blood. Reproductive Effects: Reproductive effects seen in female animals are believed to be due to altered nutritional states resulting from extremely high doses of glycerine given in the diet. Similar effects have been seen in animals fed synthetic diets.
