Above its softening point, the material liquefies and flows more readily as the temperature increases. The material is used as a hot liquid for application purposes and requires caution in handling. At elevated temperatures well above the softening point and in contact with air, the generation of hydrocarbon vapors including possible oxidized products may be expected.
