Other hazards which do not result in classification
Prolonged exposure to ammonia vapors can lead to chronic bronchitis, disorder in digestion and metabolism. There is a possibility of creating an explosive mixture of ammonia that desorbs from ammonia water with air. An ammonia gas is desorbed from the open vessel at any temperature. In the case of contact with mercury, chlorine, bromine, iodine, hydrogen fluoride and hypochlorites, self-ignition occurs. A gaseous fever in contact with calcium, sodium and chlorine forms explosive compounds. Ammonia is a caustic, poisonous, explosive and flammable gas.
