2.1 Classification of the substance or mixture
Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) film is not classified as hazardous according to OSHA HazCom 2012 (29 CFR 1910.1200) under ambient conditions, as well as under recommended processing temperatures and conditions when following good manufacturing practices. However, as is common for all Dicyclohexylmetane-4,4'-Diisocyanate (HMDI)-based thermoplastic urethanes, if the material is subjected to temperatures above its decomposition temperature (482F / 250C in the case of this product), HMDI may be liberated.
