Health hazards
Dimethoate is a poison (cholinesterase inhibitor). It rapidly enters the body on contact with all skin surfaces and eyes. Repeated exposures to cholinesterase inhibitors such as dimethoate may, without warning, cause increased susceptibility to doses of any cholinesterase inhibitor.
Environmental hazards
The substance is toxic to aquatic organisms.
