SECTION 2: Hazards identification
Emergency overview When heated or cut, this product may release dust or fumes. If dust or fumes are inhaled, they may irritate the upper respiratory tract. Highly flammable.
Principle Routes of Exposure
Inhalation. Skin contact. Eyes Exposure to hot material may cause thermal burns. Fumes released during thermal processing may cause eye irritation. Skin When it is heated, this material may cause thermal burns. Prolonged and/or repeated skin contact with this product may cause irritation/dermatitis. Asphalt solutions are considered to be carcinogenic by repeated/prolonged skin contact, because of their polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon content. Inhalation Heating this product may release harmful vapors. Inhalation of vapors/fumes generated by heating this product may cause respiratory irritation with throat discomfort, coughing or difficulty breathing. Prolonged or excessive inhalation may cause respiratory tract irritation. Ingestion No hazard in normal industrial use. Target organs Eyes. Lungs. Respiratory system. Skin.
