GHS CLASSIFICATION Flammable gases Category 1A Gases under pressure Refrigerated Liquefied Gas HAZARD PICTOGRAMS GHS02 GHS04 Flammable Gas under pressure
Signal word
DANGER HAZARD H220 Extremely flammable gas STATEMENTS H281 Contains refrigerated gas; may cause cryogenic burns or injury
Prevention
P210 Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. P282 Wear cold insulated gloves and either face shield or eye protection.
Response
P377 Leaking gas fire: Do not extinguish, unless leak can be stopped safely. P381 In case of leakage, eliminate all ignition sources. P336 + P315 Thaw frosted parts with lukewarm water. Do not rub affected area. Get immediate medical advice/attention.
Storage
P403 Store in a well-ventilated place.
2.3 Other hazards
LNG leaks generate large volumes of flammable vapour, initially heavier than air. Vapour NOT RESULTING IN may travel downhill or downwind to ignition sources and collect in low-lying areas or beneath structures. As it warms, it becomes lighter and disperses upward.
