DANGER, FLAMMABLE LIQUID Emergency Overview: Form: Liquid Color: Light yellow Odor: Ketone OHSA Regulatory Status: This material is considered hazardous by the OHSA Hazard Communication Standard
Potential health effects
Eyes- Contact may cause irritation. Vapors can produce irritation. Symptoms include tearing and reddening. Skin- Causes skin irritation: reddening, stinging and swelling. Persons previously sensitized can experience allergic reaction with symptoms of reddening, itching, swelling and rash. Ingestion- May be harmful or fatal if swallowed. Aspiration of material into lungs can cause chemical pneumonitis, which can be fatal. May cause central nervous system effects such as headache, nausea, vomiting and weakness. Inhalation- High concentrations of vapors may be irritating to the respiratory tract. Isocyanate vapor/mists at concentration above the exposure limits can irritate (burning sensation) the mucous membranes in the respiratory tract. Causes runny nose, sore throat, coughing, chest discomfort, difficult breathing and reduced pulmonary functioning. Breathing of high vapor concentrations may cause anesthetic effects and serious health effects. Excessive inhalation of vapors can cause respiratory irritation, dizziness, headache, nausea and asphyxiation. Chronic Exposure- No known chronic health effects.
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure
May be aggravating to some asthma-type conditions
