Possible hazards from physicochemical properties: Sodium azide forms explosive compounds with heavy metals. This product contains concentrations of azide <0.1% (w/w) which with repeated contact with lead and copper commonly found in plumbing drains may result in buildup of shock sensitive compounds. Some hazards associated with individual components of this mixture are not relevant because the substances are present in concentrations below the GHS cut-off levels, change of physical state or because the mixture/ solution is buffered to pH 4-9 (see GHS Directive 1272/2008/EC Annex I, chapter 3.2.3.1.2.). This substance/mixture contains no components considered to be either persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT), or very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB) at levels of 0.1% or higher.
