SECTION 2: Hazards identification
Emergency overview Use with local exhaust ventilation. Wear NIOSH-certified chemical goggles. Wear protective clothing. Do not breathe dust. State of matter: liquid Colour: yellow Odour: odourless
Principle Routes of Exposure
Routes of entry for solids and liquids include eye and skin contact, ingestion and inhalation. Routes of entry for gases include inhalation and eye contact. Skin contact may be a route of entry for liquified gases. Acute toxicity: Virtually nontoxic after a single ingestion. Virtually nontoxic after a single skin contact. Irritation / corrosion: Not irritating to the skin. Not irritating to the eyes. Sensitization: Skin sensitizing effects were not observed in animal studies. Chronic toxicity: Carcinogenicity: No data available concerning carcinogenic effects. Study does not need to be conducted. Repeated dose toxicity: The substance may cause damage to the liver after repeated ingestion of high doses, as shown in animal studies. Reproductive toxicity: No effects have been reported in reproductive organs in long term animal studies. Signs and symptoms of overexposure: The most important known symptoms and effects are described in the labelling (see section 2) and/or in section 11. Further important symptoms and effects are so far not known.
Environmental effects
Aquatic toxicity: There is a high probability that the product is not acutely harmful to aquatic organisms. The inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced to biological treatment plants in appropriate low concentrations. Terrestrial toxicity: Study scientifically not justified.
