TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Propellant: Propellant A: Because of the high content of hexogen the propellant is toxic if swallowed. Pure hexogen poses teratogenic (TDL0 oral rat female 20 mg/kg) and reproductive (TDL0 oral rat male 3 g/kg) effects. The LD50 value for rat when swallowed is 100 mg/kg (hexogen) of body weight. Chronic toxicity (long- term): Affect on nerve-centre (hexogen). Propellant B / D: To the best of our knowledge the propellant mixture poses neither acute or chronic toxic properties nor etching effects. Contact with eyes or skin is mild irritant. Gunaidium Nitrate The LD50 value for rat (oral) is 1260 mg/kg of body weight.Potassium Perchlorate The LD50 value for rat when swallowed TRW 11. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION Propellant A: Data only available from hexogen, which is the main component of the propellant. Harmful to aquatic organisms. May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Mictrox (hexogen) EC50 65 mg/l. Persistence degradability (hexogen) BOD7 0.02 g/g, COD 0.35 g/g, BOD7/COD 0.057. Bioaccumulative potential (hexogen): Log Pow = 1.62 Propellants B, C, D: Do not allow propellant or burn down products of the propellant or inflator to enter sewage systems, waters or soil. In general, copper compounds are toxic for aquatic organisms. Nitrates have been shown to increase the etrophication rate of lakes and other surface waters. Care should be taken to prevent entry of the product into the environment. Toxicity (guandinium nitrate): Fish LC50, Leuciscus idus (olden orfe) = 2420 mg/l; Daphnia magna (water-flea) = 85 mg/l. Guanidinium Nitrate Toxicity LC50/48 h/Goldorfe 2420 mg/l, EC50/24 h/Daphnia 85 mg/l, EC/72 h/Scenedesmus subspicatus 55 mg/l, EC10/Pseudodomonas putida 832 mg/l Potassium Perchlorate: In general potassium perchlorate is harmful to plants. Potassium perchlorate possesses a low solubility in water. Some bacteria, such as Vibrio dechloraticans can metabolize perchlorates and thereby reduce the perchlorate to chloride. There is no evidence of accumulation in animals. Risks to plants cannot be quantified. Not harmful to aquatic organisms.Toxicity: Fish LC50, Leuciscus idus (olden orfe) = 1850/2800 mg/l; Crustaceans 24 h LC50, Daphnia magna (water-flea) = 940 mg/l; Algea „toxicity threshold“, Scenedesmus quadricauda (a planktronic green algea) = 359 mg/l. CALIFORNIA USE ONLY: Perchlorate Material - special
