2.3 Other hazards
Strong oxidizing agent. Not combustible but may ignite combustible materials. Many reactions may cause fire or explosion. Risk of fire and explosion on contact with heat or metal catalysts. Risk of fire and explosion on contact with combustible substances and reducing agents. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire. Cause corrosion of the metals. Corrosive. Alkaline product. The solution in water is a medium strong base. Causes burns. The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Cause serious damage of the eyes. Corrosive on ingestion. Inhalation of the dusts or chlorine gas may cause lung oedema. Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause dermatitis. Contact with acids liberates toxic gas - chlorine. May ignite contaminated clothes (more information - see heading 11).
Environmental hazards
Very toxic to aquatic organisms. Special attention should be given to water organisms. May be fatal for soil organisms and plants in spill place.
