Hazard statements
Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. May be corrosive to metals. May cause respiratory irritation. Very toxic to aquatic life R34 Causes burns. R50 Very toxic to aquatic organisms.
Precautionary statements
Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray. Avoid release to the environment. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. If exposed : Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. If in eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If inhaled: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing If on skin (or hair): Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. According to Directive 1999/45/EC: S1/2 Keep locked up and out of the reach of children. S26 In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. S36/37/39 Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. S45 In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible). S61 Avoid release to the environment. Refer to special instructions/ Safety data sheets.
Other physicochemical hazards
Aqueous ammonia - is a non-flammable and non-explosive liquid. Ammonia gas – combustible gas. Mixture of ammonia and air is explosive.
Health hazards
If the conditions of use are violated, affects central nervous system and respiratory system, liver, kidneys, spleen, gastrointestinal tract, skin, eyes. Inhalation: acute gas exposure can lead to respiratory tract irritation, cause bronchospasm, edema, respiratory standstill. Ingestion: may perform corrosive action on esophagus and stomach. Skin: irritation may occur, chemical burns. Eye contact: lacrymation, edema or blindness are possible. Gas causes irritation.
Environmental hazards
May cause harm to surrounding flora and fauna. Toxic for aquatic organisms Other Ammonia is in gaseous state at ambient temperature and pressure, that can lead to formation of caustic or explosive mixtures with air.
