Potential health effects
Eye Slight irritation Skin contact May cause allergic skin reaction in susceptible individuals. Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause skin irritation, however; the use of chemical gloves prevents problems. Inhalation When used in well-vented areas should not be harmful. However, massive exposure to Toluene of over 800 ppm for 8 hours will cause irritation to nose and lungs, bad taste in mouth, and drowsiness. Ingestion May cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, burning sensation in the epigastrium, headache, dizziness, weakness, euphoria, drowsiness and uncoordination. Environmental Refer to manufacturer of toluene for toxicology studies information. 2
