Principle Routes of Exposure
Eye, Inhalation, Skin Contact. Signs and Symptoms of Exposure : Inhalation of quartz is classified as a human carcinogen. Chronic Exposure can cause sillicosis, a form of lung scaring that can cause Shortness of breath, reduced lung fonction, and in severe cases, death. Inhalation may increase the progression of tuberculosis, susceptibility is apparently not increased. Persons with impaired respiratory fonction may be more susceptible ot the effects of this substance. Smoking can increase the risk of lung injury. Target Organs : Lungs
