Potential health effects
Eye: May cause eye irritation. Skin: May cause skin irritation. If absorbed, causes symptoms similar to those of ingestion. Toxic in contact with skin. Substance is readily absorbed through the skin. Ingestion: May cause irritation of the digestive tract. Poison by ingestion. May form methemoglobin which in sufficient concentration causes cyanosis (bluish discoloration of skin due to deficient oxygenation of the blood). Inhalation: May cause respiratory tract irritation. May cause effects similar to those described for ingestion. Toxic if inhaled. Chronic: Chronic ingestion may cause liver damage.
