INGESTION : Warning! May be fatal or cause blindness if swallowed. EYE CONTACT : Page - 2 ACHESON COLLOIDS COMPANY MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET Date - 9/05/2008 This product contains a chemical or chemicals which may be corrosive and cause irreversible eye damage. SKIN CONTACT : Acute dermal exposure to an ingredient in the controlled product has caused skin corrosion and renal failure in humans. This product contains a chemical or chemicals which are corrosive to the skin. Excessive skin contact will result in chemical burns. OTHER SKIN CONTACT : Prolonged or repeated contact may cause an allergic skin reaction in some individuals. May be harmful if absorbed through the skin. INHALATION : Vapors and mists irritate eyes, nose and throat. Prolonged or repeated inhalation of vapors or mists of this product may cause irritation and/or an allergic respiratory reaction in the lungs. Dusts generated from sanding and grinding on surfaces coated with this product may be harmful if inhaled. Vapors and mists generated from this product are harmful if inhaled. CHRONIC: An ingredient in the controlled product has been shown to cause mutagenic activity in vitro in human cells and in the germ and somatic cells of laboratory animals. This product contains methanol which can cause reproductive effects in animals. This product contains phenol which has caused adverse effects on the kidneys, liver and lungs of both laboratory animals and humans. This product contains formaldehyde or is capable of releasing formaldehyde above 0.5 ppm under certain conditions. The International Agency for Research on Cancer(IARC), has now listed formaldehyde as carcinogenic to humans (Group 1). Formaldehyde is a potential skin and respiratory sensitizer. This product contains graphite which can accumulate in lung tissue after long-term exposure to the dust.
