The toxicological properties of this material have not been investigated. Use procedures that prevent or minimize direct contact with the skin, eyes or respiratory system. • The CAP Proficiency Testing Samples contain materials derived from bovine serum. These materials were found negative for HIV-1, HIV-2, and non-reactive for HbsAg and HCV when tested with licensed reagents. Since no known method can offer assurance that products derived from bovine blood will not be infectious, such materials should be handled as if capable of transmitting infection.
