Critical Hazards: Flammable liquid and vapour. Moderate Eye Irritation: Signs/symptoms may include redness, swelling, pain, tearing, and blurred or hazy vision. Moderate Skin Irritation: Signs/symptoms can include localized redness, swelling, itching, and dryness. May be absorbed following inhalation and cause target organ effects. TALC (14807-96-6) has been shown to cause fibrosis of the lungs. The product contains quartz silica known to cause silicosis of the lungs under prolonged and repeated inhalation exposure. If grinding is part of the preparation and dust is produced at levels above the recommended guidelines, a half-mask dust respirator should be worn. May be absorbed following ingestion and cause target organ effects. WARNING Contains a chemical which can cause cancer. High dose animal ingestion studies have reported reproductive effects for boric acid (a chemical related to sodium metaborate (CAS# 7775-19-1)). The doses administered were many times in excess of those to which humans would normally be exposed. A human study of occupational exposure to borate dust showed no adverse effect on reproduction.
